Have you decided to drink tequila the way Mexicans do it?
Here we tell you how.
1.
In México, tequila is taken straight and served in short
thin glasses called caballito (little horse). Choose the tequila
you prefer; it comes in blanco (white), reposado (aged) and añejo
(old). Once served, just take a sip.
2.
Too strong? Accompany each sip with sangrita (spicy tomato juice,
it is also served in a caballito). There are two ways to drink
it: alternating a nip of tequila with a nip of sangrita, respectively,
or throwing back the tequila in one gulp and then nursing the
sangrita.
3.
Another option is to combine tequila with salt and lime: put a
pinch of salt between you index finger and thumb; in the other
hand, take a slice of lime. Lick the salt with your tongue, suck
the lime, and with both ingredients in you mouth, take a nip of
your tequila.
Now slam your caballito onto the table and shout "ajua!"
at the top of your lungs-just like a true Mexican would.
